This signature benefit event, now in its eleventh year, again brings together area caterers and restaurants with volunteer hosts, who open their homes and hearts to raise money for children and families in crisis. All funds raised through the event will go directly to YHI’s foster care, family preservation, and delinquency prevention programs.
This year, though, Come To Our Homes introduces a new taste! Three different tiers of events will give our hosts more options, and the event will now be spread throughout the months of March and April to allow our hosts and restaurants more flexibility in scheduling.
The 2010 Come To Our Homes event kicked off on Saturday, March 6, and run through Saturday, April 24.
EVENT TIERSElegant Affairs
Hosts invite up to 40 friends to their home for a spectacular seated dinner designed and prepared by one of Charlotte’s finest chefs. The caterer or restaurant donates the meal as in-kind donation to YHI, YHI provides 1–2 volunteer servers/helpers, and the host provides all the extras that make the event a WOW! Dinner guests are asked to make individual contributions to YHI of $75 or more, with a fundraising goal of minimum $2,000 per party.Simple Suppers/Casual Cocktails
This tier is designed for those who would like to host a simpler or smaller event with a fundraising goal of $500. We will provide hosts with a list of Preferred Vendors—local caterers, restaurants, student chefs, and businesses who will donate food or services or provide discounts. The rest is up to you!Do-It-Yourself/Home Cooking
Create and host your own get-together or event. The sky’s the limit! This option is great for faith and civic groups or other organizations who want to be creative and invent their own way of supporting YHI and our mission.
