Dear Friend and Supporter of YHI:

IT’S OFFICIAL!! After more than a year of thoughtful discussions, evaluating, and planning, YHI’s governing Board last night voted to move forward with a plan to formally partner with Family Life Council (FLC) and Children’s Home Society of NC (CHS). Combined, our three agencies are positioned to provide an array of programs and services that none of us can deliver alone. That translates into very good news for the children and families across NC that we collectively serve.  

This merger will ultimately mediate many of the environmental challenges that the three agencies independently face, and most importantly broaden our scope in serving families. My primary task for the upcoming year is to integrate the programs so that we can maximize the talents and strengths of all three agencies, and in turn improve outcomes for the families we collectively serve.

This decision was well planned, and our Boards were extensively involved from the onset of these discussions. In short, the collective wisdom of our Board leadership validates the direction in which we are moving. I am incredibly excited about the potential, and invite you to “stay tuned” to see what is to come over the next year. 

In the short run, you can expect to keep updated via our website and continuing communications from us. Youth Homes will continue its work with the families in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, and will be operating as a division of Children’s Home Society. Our commitment to the families we serve shall not waiver, nor our passion about building promising futures. Thank you for your continued support, and be assured that your support now impacts even more children and families in our region.
